The most popular flooring in the Charlotte Metro Area
Luxury vinyl plank is now the #1 selling flooring category in North America, and it's not hard to see why. It's 100% waterproof, scratch-resistant, kid- and pet-proof, looks indistinguishable from hardwood, and holds up beautifully to the humidity swings of a Piedmont summer.
Floor Decor & More stocks LVP from Shaw, Armstrong, Karndean, Mannington, Centura, Kraus, and Harbinger - including the rigid-core SPC and WPC products designers specify on luxury renovations - for homes from Waxhaw out to Indian Land, SC.

How to choose the right LVP
Three numbers tell you almost everything about an LVP product: wear layer, core construction, and total thickness. We'll walk you through what they mean during the consultation, and compare it against our full vinyl flooring lineup or laminate if you're still weighing your options.
- Wear layer 12-20 mil - residential, light traffic (rentals, bedrooms)
- Wear layer 22 mil - residential whole-home (most popular)
- Wear layer 28-30 mil - heavy residential and commercial
- SPC core (stone polymer composite) - rigid, won't telegraph subfloor imperfections
- WPC core (wood polymer composite) - softer underfoot, warmer feel
- Total thickness 5mm-8mm - thicker is quieter and more forgiving

Click-lock vs. glue-down installation
Click-lock LVP floats over the subfloor, installs fast, and is easy to repair. Glue-down LVP feels more solid underfoot, is quieter, and is the better choice for very large open areas and high-traffic commercial spaces. We'll recommend the right method based on your subfloor and room layout - and we install both, including matching LVP stair systems.

Professional LVP installation
The difference between a great LVP install and a bad one is in the subfloor. We level every dip, fill every low spot, and use the manufacturer-required underlayment. Our crews also handle stair nosings (custom-milled to match when factory nosings aren't available), baseboard removal/reinstall, and full disposal of your existing floor. If you'd rather compare it to laminate flooring before deciding, we're happy to bring both samples to your free estimate.

Yes - LVP is one of the best basement flooring options in a region prone to summer humidity. It's waterproof, handles concrete subfloors without acclimation issues, and feels far warmer than tile.
The top wear layer is highly scratch-resistant, but it isn't indestructible. Dog claws and heavy furniture being dragged across it can scuff lower-grade LVP. We recommend a 20+ mil wear layer for households with large dogs.
Quality LVP with a 22+ mil wear layer lasts 20-25 years in a typical home. Commercial-rated LVP can go 25-30 years.
Reputable brands are FloorScore certified for indoor air quality and CARB Phase II compliant for formaldehyde. The LVP Floor Decor & More sells is safe to install in nurseries and homes with sensitivities.
